I'm not a drummer but I like to see it (in moderation) if the drummer is good. It adds to the feeling/spectacle. Every other musician plays hard live in a more or less showy way - like, at a minimum, guitarists are always digging in or making big swings with the pick that they wouldn't be doing if they were tracking the part in a studio, let alone all the other jumping around and shit.

I wonder if a guitarist gets the urge to flip their guitar in the way it occurs when a drummer gets ahold of a stick.

Flips are cool, but pinging it off the ride into the crowd is King Shit. Waffles if you lost an eye to that one.

ZZ Top went out of their way to pay for this privilege.

I would totally watch a drummer do flips and twirls in between songs or pauses..
Oh, you mean with sticks. Sure, I guess.

Crabcore guitarists seemed to get off on this.
I know we should tolerate different cultures, but sometimes it's hard when their culture is idiotic.

If you're this dude and can do it without overplaying or missing a beat, then you might win the internet:
[Thinking maybe I should just communicate in viral videos from now on.]

I once recorded a band whose drummer still did all the stick tricks in the studio, said they were just a feature of his drum parts.
