I’ll add to this a bunch of camera gear that ranges from expensive-but-not-actually-dumb (a functional Hassie or Rollie or Super-8 camera) to dumb-but-probably-not-expensive (an 8mm projector and screen).

I’ve also occasionally fantasized about being a loser for, like two weeks. Just hanging out in the basement, eating nothing but junk food, playing video games, and smoking gobs of weed.

In truth, I would absolutely, positively hate this: I don’t have a basement, I don’t play (or really even care to play) video games, I don’t have any great love for weed, and the junk food and lack of exercise would make me feel gross and depressed. It’s truly a dumb desire.
