Nu Rahat

Some found the dialogue kind of clunky, but I thought Count Orlock was spittin'. Production design, atmosphere, and performances were all delivered with aplomb. A little long tho.

For me, it could have been longer. I was a little put off by the film either being "haunting and atmospheric" or batshit insane without much in between. Perhaps the director's cut that's been confirmed will fix that for me.

I am eagerly awaiting the next person who comes into a room I'm in with bags in hand so that I can tell them to "put down their conveniences."

I'll see it, will probably like it, but right now - after Murnau and Herzog - I don't understand what the point of it is.

Passion project + previous success + IP recognisable from gifs/ memes?

It sounds like it's worth a go. Hated The Northman, it felt like a Skyrim cutscene you couldn't skip. Hope it's better than that!

I don't want to ruin the experience of seeing the original movie with a live orchestra at the Babylon a few months ago. Also, I have been reading comments that this version keeps in spirit with the "original Herzog vision". lol lmao

Here’s my hot take on the Murnau original:

It’s fine.

Faust, The Last Laugh, and (especially) Sunrise are all better.

I haven't seen it yet, but feel like Herzog's was the genuine article. The Lighthouse was pretty great.
