Where do you, the hunched masses of the PRF stand on the art or science or snake oil of chiropractors?

In my experience they can provide some temporary relief, but regular walking/standing, stretching, and strength training can do way more good over time. Crap, though I'm sure there are some legitimate cases for it.

Refraining from voting, as I would never suggest this as a course of medical care for anyone, but mine has saved my life in a no-small way. Or greatly improved the quality of it. Taken together with stretching and massage, I've found that my sciatica and neck issues have been greatly lessened by using the ol' joint cracker. Mine is a big Greek dude who looks like he could bend steel with his hands.
Starting the stopwatch for when someone posts the Behind the Bastards episode about the history of chiro.
I would suggest anyone with back issues engage in PT first. That said, this route has worked very well for me. I go in now about once a year for a tune up and because it feels like free, cheap thrill when the pressure is released on those joints.

Bullshit artists cosplaying as medical professionals. About as useful as homeopathy.
Any benefits are purely coincidental.

It horrifies me- the confidence with which these barely trained technicians (compared with docs, at least) execute these extremely forceful and violent 'adjustments' on the most delicate parts of your body. Unsurprisingly, the internet is rife with stories of cracked vertebrae, damaged spinal cords, SEVERED ARTERIES.
HELL FUCKING NO.

When I hear the word chiropractor, I immediately think of Robbie Basho.
