Was thinking about this after their performance earlier this week. I suspect I know the result but am curious if it will be close.

Am expecting snarky third answers.

The answer isn’t as obvious (to me) when you consider Kim Gordon at her best. “Shadow of a Doubt”, for example. Also considering the number of people she inspired.

if a musician is the lightning rod between our ears and that weird veiled muse from some great beyond, then Kim Deal is the "best" musician alive. not as some ranked snarky record critic thing, but I know if her name's on it then it won't be bullshit.

The same cannot be said about Ms. Gordon. I do like her, though, even the tedious sides are kinda charming.

anyways, Deal

Can anyone besides me remember a piece that Eric Begosian wrote for Details in the 90s called "Why Guys Love Kim Gordon?" Am I misremembering?

Abstaining.

Re: inspiration and output - I’d say both equally really… both “veterans” (much as I hate that word) who have made huge creative contributions to independent music and inspired thousands…

imo it all comes down to preferences. As a person and musician it’s Deal for me, but that’s just me…. Depends on yr metric

Abstained w No snarky third options

It would be closer to me if so much of SY's catalog wasn't art wank, and if Gordon hadn't transformed into a New York Fashion Mom. Deal keeps it real.
