My wife loves the Concrete Blonde song "Joey", so I hear it a lot. Perhaps you have an opinion on the song.

Crap, but my guess is that your wife associates it with some happy memory and as a result loves the song too. I have songs like those myself.

It's kind of genius.

That's my take. I listened to the first CB album a LOT in the last year or so here, too. Much deeper waters there than I'd previously thought.

This song, "Joey", which I thought was about Joey Ramone forever, is a direct shot of pathos in a super fucked up way. Weirdly fits into the same level of desire or pain or whatever that I slot "Fade Into You" in. Maybe the LA connection? Not sure.

Big fan.

Love it. Not Crap. Johnette Napolitano has a cool voice. Never completed a deep dive but I'm down for "Joey" and "Bloodletting (The Vampire Song)."

That first album is really great. Fits really nicely next to the True West or Dream Syndicate albums of that era, I think. Something in the air in LA around that time, I swear.

A great song that I never need to hear again.

Like the albums but that song never did it for me.

Won't vote.

I'd toss Thin White Rope in there as well. More desert than beach, y'know?
