It ain't just Temu, though. Brick and mortar retailers, from mom-and-pop local businesses to rural fixtures like Dollar General, rely on smaller shipments of cheap imports.

I've got about 5 ebay/discogs orders in transit to the US from Japan. They may not make it there by Aug 29th.

Basically our post is suspending all the shipments with commercial value to the US. Only gifts are "available". But you should take caution because there is always a possibility that your customs will not believe that your package is a gift and they will declare it as a commercial shipment. They reserve that right.

Discogs sent out a message that said media is excluded from tariffs, so there's that.

"We understand you may have concerns about how tariffs and executive orders in the United States could impact your business on Discogs. Here’s everything we know about the situation so far.

US Tariffs Should Not Apply to Your Inventory on Discogs
Vinyl records, CDs, cassettes, and other recorded media should be exempt from any tariffs under US presidential executive order.

The executive order going into effect on August 29, 2025, removes a long-standing "de minimis" tariff exemption for most goods valued under USD $800. However, this change does not apply to "informational materials” like music media, which are still exempt from tariffs under US law 50 USC 1702(b)(3).

Simply put, music and informational media have always been exempt from tariffs and continue to be so at this time. This means neither sellers nor collectors on Discogs should be charged additional customs fees."

Of course, this means nothing if no one will ship to the USA.
