When you see the word "shirt" with no added context, what do you immediately picture in your head?

What a garbage way to kill a thread.

For me, first thing I imagine when I hear "shirt" without further context is "t-shirt". If it's something else, I'd likely clarify with "dress shirt", "button down shirt", etc.

Thanks. I guess I'm the opposite: I think of a shirt with buttons unless someone specifically says "t-shirt", but you're not alone with your take.

I think of a t-shirt as a shirt, but that’s the norm in these parts where it’s Summer 8 months out of the year. The other thing is a button-up or a pearl-snap. Those are the things you wear to formal outings.
