I was born and raised in Texas.

I will say that there are parts of Texas which people are very nice, reasonable, and open minded.

But there is another part of Texas which just plain blows the big one.

There is a reason I am far, far away in Maine, and it's the part of Texas that loves nascar, rodeos, and putting people to death.


Former Gov. George Bush loved to put people to death, including a couple of people who claimed to be innocent and had witnesses (Gary Graham is one), and a mentally retarded woman.

this issue and the recent reflux of the gays in the military thing have got me to thinking. if someone was a satanist would texas let them adopt a child? or maybe a religious nut that thinks children should be beaten not heard? or how about one of those assholes that prefers whipped cream icing to sugar?

also, you can't serve in the military if you're an avowed homosexual but what about an avowed racist? if went to the recruiter and said "listen, dude. i'm all about killing whatever you want me to kill but just so you know i totally hate japs. is that cool?" would i be allowed to serve proudly?

i know these dicks don't pull gay out of a hat as far as characteristics they don't like in public but what about all the other irrational hatred they have? i say if gay people can't be in the army or adopt kids texas should stand up and deny the right to mulattos as well.

the best thing to do in Tex-ass is to go to Waco, which is kinda scary and rundown as it is, walk into a military surplus store, and ask where the Branch Dividian complex is. Or ask where the pile of rubble or bare innocent field that used to be the Branch Dividian complex is.

We gave it a go on the way to a show in Austin. All the employes (like us) thought it was funny, but didn't know where it was.

If you execute enough people, sooner or later you'll kill a few innocent ones. People get stuck with unusually vindictive or stupid juries, prosecutors withhold evidence, defense attorneys do a half-assed job...shit happens. Texas just happens to execute so many people. Although I've read that their courts of appeals are stacked with ex-prosecutors who don't like reversing convictions, even when the evidence is a joke, as it seems to have been in this case.
