I'm doing this for purely selfish reasons - they've never had any kind of a vibe over here and hence I'm entirely ignorant. Please feel free to enlighten.

Seconded.

Go to Zeno Records (dot com) for the whole lowdown.

You can hear a lot of the Wipers in some of the Northwest's most popular bands of the 1990's.

Very not crap.

One of the most important bands in punk rock in my mind, and consistantly overlooked as well.

To this day no band has ever successfully embodied such wonderful feelings of dread, isolation and outsiderness while maintaining such amazing forward momentum musically.

NOT CRAP.

Don't care much for the 90s stuff, but for me that's a different band anyway.

there was for me a certain amount of waffling here, but this morning I listened to the box set for the first time in awhile and now, I can confidently proclaim: not crap

uh, gee, not crap.
I wouldn't sell "Follow Blind" and "The Circle" short, either.

Wait, the WIPERS? Are you-

no, you can't be-

wow. Man. No, not crap. In fact, so not crap that if anyone would be so inclined as to send me a duplicate copy of the "YOA" disc from the Is This Real? box set, my copy of which was burned in a fire, they would be a very good friend indeed.

Salut, Wipers.
