Andrew W.K. makes huge sounding anthems for the masses, at first I found this repugnant and generally beneath contempt. To say nothing of the fact that some of it veered dangerously close to that bottom feeder papum known as nu-metal (no umlauts for music that weak, sorry), Then I realized there was a sort of genius to the compositions.

Not to mention that the guy has no trace of that deplorable indie rock irony or sarcasm in his body and that he's taking the faux angst out of aggressive music again.

Good, dumb, feel good music, and one of the only mainstream bands I like.

AWK was on the UW-Madison campus last night giving a free guest lecture on "How to Party." My friends who went said that it was hilarious and awesome. I'm sad i didn't go.
