Inspired by the Belle and Sebastian post, I thought it might be interesting to see what bands or musicians inspire hatered in others.

-I dislike Belle and Sebastion (from this point on B.S.) rather intensly, but i don't hate them. There are plenty of groups that i truly despise, but hate? It takes a lot of obnoxiousness to hate someone just for the music they make.

There are a few groups i hate, but in the year 2003 the band i fucking hate the most is: The White Fucking Stripes.

Just the very thought of them ...oooh i tell ya.

The guy was a fraud. He was no thug.
The fuckers whole persona was 100% invented.
He went to that "fame" school for dancing.
He was a dancer for Digital Underground doing the humpty hump.
He did not invent shit, add to shit, rethink shit, test the boundries of shit, renew shit, explore shit, make good shit. But he sure was shit. Kool Keith could wipe his ass with the stupid rhymes this clown did. I guess a premature death can do alot for shining a turd to a diamond ----see Jim Morrison.

They were popularizers (at best), never groundbreakers.

And yeah, thanks for spawning thousands of horrible, perfunctory bands that have stunk up "music" since you guys sat down and decided to be rock and rollers. The best move you boring tools ever made was when you started dying off. Have fun in hell when you're forced to listen to all your tribute albums.

i hate almost every "emo-core" band.
i also hate the notion of "post-rock",which implies that there can be any music made after rock.fuck it. rock is the end of music,rock's the apocalypse.there can be nothing after rock.

6. once at the fireside bowl, i saw this band from new orleans who were really one of the most terrible bands i ever heard. there were two guys and a drum machine, and they had a green thrift-store lamp hanging from a mic stand...i have no idea who they are, but i called them "little black", because they sounded like an effeminate big black. they SUCK. they also stank, they seemed to have not bathed in weeks.

first of all, thank you for this thread. I'll be posting much hatred in the future.

First off, those GD meathead bands: avended sevenfold, atreyu, a static lullaby. almost every band with the words "death", "spring" or "autumn". possibly the most generic "music" being made right now.
Botch is of course disqualified on grounds of being absolutely badass.

Secondly, the 4th generation or whatever it is so-called "emo": brand new, taking back sunday, the used, so many others...

The worst of all, Pop-Punk, the oxymoron turned jailbait haven. These bands should think of better ways to make money, like the stock market, or donating sperm. I dont have time to name them on, but I'm constantly being bombarded with ads about them, it the de-evolution of modern music. I could write an essay about this, but I have to go to college in 10 minutes. So basically: Die.

Dillinger Four is of course excluded from this, for they are also badass.

Dont think that I only hate huge bands that are signed to major labels, theres plenty of "underground" bands that sound exactly the same and suck just as much.
