so after the slaying in the first game, the cubs take 2 of 3 in the series, bringing the season record cubs v sox to 3-3.

sox still have the best record in MLB. and of their 24 losses, 12.5% of them came at the hand of the chicago cubs. HA!

hey man, the sox are kicking some ass in MLB, and the cubs are .500 against them. and the cubs were able to pack US Cellular. these are things that compel me to take a jab at the sox, who have the best record in MLB. it's all fair.

and you should know by now that the "cubbies" are one of the topics that walter consistently posts the same sorta absurd stuff about (sox are not for real chicago people?!?! get real!!) to get a response from somebody.

I wasn't criticizing the existence of a "crosstown classic" thread. (Doesn't one already exist, though?)
I just think that the "Sox fans suck/Cubs fans suck" back and forth, which walter"Chicago"malling was initiating once again, is really bunk.
Don't get me wrong, I was relieved to see the Cubs take 2 of 3 after Friday's ass kicking, and to see Prior look so sharp.
I'm very pleased that the Prior/Wood return is going to allow them to jettison some of the dead arms in their bullpen. Hopefully I never have to watch Joe Borowski pitch again.

as outdated a concept as the triple crown and its stats are, anything that hasn't happened in 40 years is cool. i was backing delgado when he made a run at it 3 years back, and i'll be similarly rooting for lee all the way. he's gotta take down the suddenly (and bizzarely) powerhouse that is andruw jones, though!
