Do you guys like Wolf Eyes?
I think "Burned Mind" one of the most deliciously fucked up records since Suicide's debut. Possibly the pinnacle of everything Industrial.
And how the hell does he get that effect on his voice that reduces it to a toneless, scratching shriek?

I saw them open for Sonic Youth. That was my general opinion.
I don't think I was supposed to be laughing as hard as I was.

they opened for them here too, I think I found it more fun to just watch them make as much noise as possible

Burned Mind is the masterpiece. Wolf Eyes/Black Dice is also excellent.

Wolf Eyes recorded at Electrical??Thats awesome!! I love Wolf Eyes, I'm more into "Dead Hills" than "Burned Mind".I guess i'm just like the aspects of the "beats" and stuff used on there, opposed to the extreme noise. Wolf, Eyes is sort of a dificult band .. you either love em or hate em..I really want to see them live! But, back to the recording at EA, anybody got any info on that?

very interesting... i mixed them for the Sonic Youth dates, about two or three weeks total... and they are definitely NOT "winging it". their songs are not improvised any more than a rock band... just like any other band, some sets are better than others, and i've seen a few wolf eyes shows that have spun my head around.
when they started playing every night there were three distinct different groups of people in the crowd. 1/3 of the people pushed up front, with fists in the air saw their new favorite band. 1/3 of the people had never heard anything like it before. being confused but interested they hung around to see what these three boys did next. the last third split before the first song was over. i had a few drunken hot shots come over and give me mixing tips, wondering what we had done in soundcheck.
got to see them a week ago in sweden... they were slaying. as usual.

There were about 4 minutes toward the end of the set where they sounded like Godflesh and that was allright. Aside from that, basic noise band stuff not very exciting or interesting.
