Do you know how many Volcano Suns records there are? Four hundred thousand. I have all of them.

I keep thinking that one of their records must be good, so I get one, and then I say "Oh, this must be one of the bad ones," and then I find another one.

Well, guess what? They're all bad! They suck it! Crap!

Now, I know Thing of Beauty may have been a little long in the tooth, but,
The Bright Orange Years?
Farced?
Bumper Crop?
Career In Rock?
All Night Lotus Party?

Right there you have five shining examples of the Volcano Suns not being crap.

again I say,

Volcano Suns - Not Crap.

Not Crap.

"The Bright Orange Years" and "All Night Lotus Party" are timeless - pummeling rock without any of the silly posturing or tired cliches.

Smart, funny, and loud. What's not to like?

(And, if we're swapping Bob Weston stories, he once finished up some recording work for my then band in exchange for parts for his Saab 99 (a windshield wiper motor and a front grill if I recall correctly).

This - the biggest NOT CRAP - is for my long time drummer & vocalist hero Peter Prescott and Volcano Suns. The very first VS record that I heard was double LP "Thing of Beauty". I fell for VS instantly. These guys have real PMA, what a voice!, I thought. At that time I was crazed Hüsker Dü fan [some teenagers were/are] and used to check SST issues quite regularly. The sad fact was that VS had already played in my hometown [I guess sometime in 1989. or early 1990.]. However, I managed to buy all their records later on. I love them and every time I put Homestead debut "Bright Orange Years" on my turntable I feel that special volcano "thing" of beauty: Jak, Balancing Act, Mouth that Roared, Cornfield...The only record that I missed is early Homestead single "Greasy Spine/Sea Cruise" or something like that. I'd welcome reissues.

Thanks Suns.

Btw, what happened with MOB documentary, I saw the trailer and than...nothing? Is it released?
