Apparently Rhino is making a Germs movie? Does anyone know anything about this...I feel something trite afoot, but then again if Rhino is overseeing it they might keep it legit.

It must be a short movie. How long were they around for, two years?

I have their first gig on tape somewhere. I would be willing to bet that anyone else on this board's first gig was awesome by comparison. However, they did get better, quickly.

I wonder who will play the Blackhearts during the "recording of GI" part?

(I have always had my doubts that Don Bolles could play as well as the drumming would make you believe on GI)

The movie is called What We Do Is Secret. Shane West is playing Darby; he's the same guy who has been singing with the reunited version of the Germs that's been doing shows recently. I have no idea when the movie is coming out, but here's the trailer:

Looks sincere but goofy to me. Kinda like the Germs themselves, I suppose.

That trailer romanticizes the Germs and their legend.

I'm not sure that romanticizing this band is the correct thing to do.

I'm wondering just how the Elijah Wood-starring Iggy Pop flick that's rumored to be in the making is going to romanticize the story of the stooges.

the mae shi (without ezra, someone else portrays tomata du plenty) appear in the film as the screamers. i believe this to be tight.
