Since he seemed to be someone that was a common player on the crap/not crap game, desert island recordings, etc, and is someone that people seem to feel pretty impassioned about, lets give him his own forum.

He's been on the periphery of a lot of "important" music since the early seventies and he is a hard guy to pidgeonhole.

Roxy Music/Fripp/Genesis/Bowie/Robert Wyatt/Devo/Talking Heads/U2/Solo Recordings/ New York No Wave scene/ Nico/ and on and on and on...........

Why do you like or hate him so much?

You mean Emo Philips? He's pretty funny, I don't know what all the fuss is about. He was great in UHF.

Don't be fooled, Brian Emo makes great big sounding records with crunchy riffs, intricate guitar smacking and heartfelt impassioned vocals. His records are often mentioned in the same realm as Dashboard Confessional, Cap'n Jazz, and the Smoking Popes.

Here are some of my favorite records:

Music for Crying in Airports When Your Life Is Leaving on the Next Plane (parts I, II, & III)

Lie/Cheat Music

Taking My Bliss to the Mountain (Why? Tragedy!)

Another Mean Girl

Anyone have any others?
