There are so many great odd pedals out there and I love reading the reviews on harmony central for them. What do you folks have that you think are wigidy whack cool?

I have a Masetro filter/sample hold that is way cool, especially with a drum machine put through it.
My Maestro phaser that looks like a giant siver door wedge is the best phaser I have played through.
The DOD Gonkulator is a cool useless pedal that makes everything sound like music guano.
Wish I had bought a Digitech Space Station pedal when they were new. They are really amazing pedals, but I can't find the gumption to pay the $300 they sell for now on ebay.

a friend of mine bought a boss feedbacker pedal off ebay. if you're not familiar with it, it's just a ds-1 that has the added feature of when pushing down the pedal and holding it down it turns whatever note you were playing into "feedback" and sustains it. it wasn't a revelation or anything but it was fun to fuck with in conjunction with delay, a slide, an ebow, and an a/b switch box

i seem to not be able to get away from my PIERCING MOOSE pedal that i got a few weeks ago... one of those boutique pedals from way huge... it's an fuzz pedal with an octave switch on it... damn, it's powerful!!! i play bass through it and it has a huge low end and then when you need to get cra-zy, you can stomp the octave!! it's great... i had to use plenty of pedals to get this sound before until i played Matt Clark's moose... but, damn, those way huge pedals are not cheap!! ebay be damned!!

oh, bill skibbe just started making pedals too... they were AMAZING!! i have no idea if/when they will ever come out, but they were hot... watch out for the "sea of tombs" pedal... i hope you don't have to be in the sea of tombs to buy one...

in the running for 'the most unusable fuzz sound ever created,' is right!

i built a variation on one, since dubbed 'the penalty box'

it's difficult to take

i don't know if they're "weird" or "whack,"
but the maestro fuzztain is an interesting pedal, as is the perscription electronics "experience" pedal.

i came across a maestro ring modulator w/pedal when moving some things out for some one a couple years ago, and they said i could have it. very strange sounds. watched one sell to my disbelief for 1000 on ebay this week. its future with me is now uncertain.

As far as production pedals go, My fav is the boss Hyper-Fuzz. 2 seperate fuzz channels (dirty and FUCKING DIRTY) and a gain boost only setting. don't see many around, and they break really easy (odd for a boss pedal). I also just had a 2 stage fuzz pedal built for me by some stoner...he decided to call his 'company' DYNAFEXX...which is, of course, written on the front of the thing w/ a paint pen. It also falls into the barely useable category...unless you want to sound like godheadsilo, which I often do.

Zachary Vex, out of Minnesota, makes insane pedals. His "Fuzz Factory" dials in any number of fuzz sounds, many of which could be categorized as unusable. He offers some pre-sets to help baffled users (there are something like 6 knobs on the thing), one of which he calls "Velcro Fuzz." And actually in several different settings, the only thing I can really compare it to is the sound of ripping velcro. Another Vex pedal, just called "Machine," is even more horrific.

He charges lots of money for his stuff, but for many of his pedals the variety of sounds achieved makes it seem like you bought way more than one.

This isn't obscure, but you can get a really cool sound out of a Soundtank Fuzzbox when the battery is almost dead.
