I don't work at EA, but I've always avoided them for 2 reasons:
The rack stuff isn't compelling enough for the money.
The modulars (200,500 series) can't be used standalone (cause they're modular)
There is other stuff out there for around the same price that is more compelling (to me).

Probably old radio/TV tubes. I bet some HAM people would take those off your hands.

Remember the Mini-DAC is just a DAC. 2 channels of digital->analog. It does have a lot of digital input options, if thats what you're looking for. The converters are top notch.

Andy, what is in the signal path in those recordings? I'd like to hear it compared maybe to a Royer R-122 or some other ribbon mics. For a single mic, ~1000 EUR is not outlandish. Are there any diagrams of its internals available?
