Despite being a sporadically fanatic fisherman, it always depresses me to see some grinning arse beside the gory corpse of a magnificent beast (see also: GD Bear thread). I don't think I'd mind so much if the fisherman used only an aqualung and some waterproofed boxing gloves
I prefer the idea that there're still "monsters" kicking around in the world.

Sharks have been "doing their thing" for millions of years, only to be landed and bludgeoned to death by some hick off of the coast of Florida. Most sharks are not even dangerous to humans, and of the ones that are a potential danger only a few have the temperament to actually attack someone unprovoked.
