Seeing as I just heard a new song of theirs and it's fucking horrible bullshit I'd say no.

Don't get me wrong, I love em and I'll go see them play every chance I get but that new shit is just god awful. I KNOW the new record is gonna be terrible, I can just feel it.

If I have to hear "Yoshimi..." one more time I will fucking shoot myself in the dickhole...

I wish they'd have quit after "The Soft Bulletin". They've worn themselves entirely too thin the past few years. When I first heard "Yoshimi", I liked it, but it's obvious that they're running out of steam. "Yoshimi" seemed like a gussied up collection of outtakes from "Bulletin".

And I just listened to "Here it Is" the other day after not hearing it in years. That album fucking slays me...

Admittedly Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots doesn't compare with their older work, but I refuse to believe that a band that's constantly evolved and remained relevant over the past twenty years has gone creatively bankrupt.

Dude, it's just one song! I'm sure that the other tracks on the album are more organic and live-sounding.

If anything I've grown tiresome with their live performances moreso than their proper album releases.

Hear It Is!

You see, here's my thing: this forum is populated with threads pertaining to phenomenal bands who never really changed their overall aesthetic and their latter work has proven to sound uninspired or just plain boring because of it. Even at their weakest, I think that the Lips can still pull-off a soaring gorgeous melody or some other Lips-esque type deal and sound great.

As much as I love sheets of white noise and distortion I often wonder if people would slag them for writing another In a Priest Driven Ambulnace?

You don't know how many times I typed "Hear" as opposed to "Here"...

Thank you.

Anyway, I think they've hit their peak. And being that I'm a complete asshole when it comes to music, I'll probably never hear their new material. I'm happy with what I've heard, I'm calling it a day...
