2knowing barry, it probably has something to do with him trying to maximize the value of those boxfuls of records in his attic....
JUST KIDDING!

3Being an Ohio-boy myself (though not for long), I believe that Necros were from Maumee, right? I know T&G was founded there (then Ann Arbor, then Chicago, right?) I'm pretty interested in finding their stuff too, since the last cool thing to come out of Ohio was Afghan Whigs.
And, fine, if you don't like the Afghan Whigs, then I'll say that the last cool thing to come out of Ohio was Devo.
And if that doesn't do anything for you, tough shit.

Or Guided By Voices, or Brainiac, or the Breeders, or The New Bomb Turks, or The Bassholes, or the Slave Apartments, or Great Plains, or Death of Samantha, or Pere Ubu, or Grafton, or the Means, or the Gibson Bro's or, Gaunt, or Scrawl, or . . .

6hennsler and the boys wound up in A2 for a time. I heard barry was living in Detroit once the Big Chief thing got going. (I wonder what Phil Durr is doing now.) I don't think T&G was ever in A2, I think corey went straight from Ohio to Chicago.
Seriously, it shouldn't be too hard to get ahold of either a Necro (Barry is certainly still high functioning and I bet steve has his number) or a Necro product. There seems to be a large amount of their stuff on Ebay, if you feel like chasing it.
Or was this thread started by Barry, just to trigger some interest? Suspicious, I am.

7Ohio also gave us the Isley Bros., Ohio Players, Lakeside, Slave, Bootsy Collins, Roger Troutman & Zapp, and members of Heatwave...
But the Necros,
I guess Cory Rusk originally took over T & G from another member and maybe that's why thier early stuff has never been re-released. Maybe there is bad blood betwixt them.
If GBV can release a thousand useless records, you'd think there could be a comp of some sort.

9The Necros stuff can be found on a fan club comp which has pretty much everything.
I often wonder why Negative Approach has a comprehensive T&G release but the Necros do not. Also, what about the Fix? I know there is a comp of their stuff called Cold Days that was put together in Germany or some such place over thar. Not easy to find.
Maumee, Dearborne, Chicago.
