Speaking of that, I just watched the "Isle of Wight 1970" DVD. Keith Moon did not seem to have ownership of a hi-hat cymbal. I mean, you never really hear him use one, but I thought at least he'd have one. He did have a gong, and he used it.
Also, "the Ox" is wearing a sweet skeleton costume.

7I first heard of this guy about two weeks after 9/11 when the video for his song "New York" was released and I was disgusted by the blatant, obvious cash-in, and I knew that he would never last (sure, the song had been written prior, but the only reason the video was getting airplay was because of the circumstances). Then I hear all sorts of shit that he's totally insane and really sucks, so I just voted "this alt. country shit has got to stop" because that's more or less how I feel.

i know a guy who was at that show and saw the whole thing go down a few seats away from his own. the crowd offender more than called him bryan.
the dude in the crowd requested "summer of 69" and (b)ryan lost it.
(b)ryan reached stopped the show, reached into his pocket, pulled out 30 bucks and gave it to the guy. told him to leave, and go buy 3 copies of that crappy record. he refused to play until that guy left.

9raises an interesting question though... as musicians, when we play shows, is it essentially our house to do with as we please (i.e. deem some or all hecklers unacceptable and have them removed at our behest) or are we obligated to play for anyone who pays the money to get in, and tolerate any kinda abuse they wanna dish out? what about coordinated heckling? like if my band played and you got 30 of your friends to come to the show and during a quiet passage in a song, everybody start screaming "you fucking suck! get off the stage assholes!" or something. does that make me a jerk when you do that to me and i get upset?
if you've ever listened to the guy's music, you already know he's a pussy. you know he's not up their to show the world he's a total spit-blood-in-your-face badass or anything. he's a softie. shouldn't he be allowed to perform even if he's a fragile or irritable person?
i've only really heard one song of his, (i think it's called "Nuclear") and it makes me mad... my girlfriend put it on a mix cd for me and i had to listen to it and all, and i can't hate it because it's just not a bad song. it's not my usual cup of tea, *at all*, but i can certainly see his talent and the song's merit. and i don't hate it. and that one song anyways, it's not remotely country except that there's a slide guitar in it. if i had to say it sounded like anything, i'd say the pixies meets older radiohead.
so i can't really vote "crap" in this one, since i've only heard the one song and it's definitely not crap, even though i hate the fact that i like it.

What's funny is that a lot of people have this story- apparently Ryan plants someone in the audience to say that at quite a few of his shows. I've heard a lot of people say the same thing, about some guy requesting "Summer of 69" and then Ryan Adams refunding the ticket price and kicking him out.
