Fried Chicken: Popeye s

My favorite fried chicken. Kentucky fried chicken tastes bad, but you know... Kentucky is yucky.

Popeye's has spicy chicken that is actually spicy and crispy.

With KFC, both the original and extra crispy are greasy and soggy.

The problem is KFC uses these pressure cooker deep fryers so they can cook chicken in 5 minutes. Popeye's uses a better batter, and just fry it in a normal deep fryer for a normal amount of time (I'd imagine at least 20 minutes).

Yeah, Popeye's is great. Couldn't do it better myself. My opinion of Kentucky Fried Chicken is about the same as my opinion of Kentucky... Greasy, soggy, flabby, and lame.

The first time I had Popeye's, which was in southern Wake County in NC, my drumstick sprayed me with grease and juice on the initial bite. Bojangles on its best day is still better, but you can't get that in airports. N/c.

The best episode of Letterman (or any late show) I've ever seen had Dave simply eating a container of Popeye's Full-Flavored Green Beans and praising them for a good 15 minutes.

God I love Popeyes.

The KFC method is "broasting". Really nothing more than a high pressure deep fryer. Very popular in Michigan.
