During a drunken "meeting of the minds" post stackmatic's art show on Sat somehow Soft-Serv came up and it proved to be too heated a topic to be resovled by mere screaming/physical violence.
Crap

2Ice Cream is Not Crap, and soft-serve, while inferior to the real deal, is no exception.
Why do you make it so scary to post here.

True, especially the kind dipped in the chocolate shell, which I love. Damn that Tastee Freeze for closing for the season!

4Mr. TheClassical, you are an impressive individual. You have a beautiful wife, an excellent rock band and an extensive collection of well-tailored denim coordinates.
When I heard of your disdain for soft-serve, I knew these achievements were likely more attributable to "luck" rather than "sound judgement" or "successful execution of a well thought out plan". I hope this "walking with your eyes closed" continues to bring you success.
Best,
Itchy McGoo

6i hated soft-serve icecream until i went to japan and discovered the glorious things that that nation has done with it. the standard flavors they have are vanilla, macha (green tea), and tofu (which basically tastes like soy milk), and some of the more obscure include umeboshi (plum), black sesame seed, and black soybean. these strange and diverse flavors not only seem like some avant guarde thing you'd see on iron chef, but are actually all really good. also, i'd say they use much less than half the amount sugar that you'd find in american soft-serve which appeals to me greatly as i tend to shy away from things that are overly sweet, and use less sugar in all of my recipes.

7Mr. the Classical, yesterday @ my Father's birthday dinner, when I had the soft serve ice-cream (which was chocolate) and chose it over the scoopable ice cream (of which there was no chocolate), I thought of your impassioned diatribe against.
it is okay that you are wrong. is okay!
Faiz
P.S., I went back for seconds.

8My problem w/ soft serv (other then its consistency, texture and general taste) is that is not really ice cream, but some other food stuff. A food stuff that I would much rather have nothing to do w/. Do not try and pawn this off as ice cream to me when it so plainly is not. I do not recognize anything other than plain vanilla flavor from a bucket or cardboard container as ice cream.
I am not wrong, I am so right it is frightening...join me and together we can end this destructive conflict.
