Hello fellow Louisville person. I remember that show at the Clifton center, but I had forgotten that was their first. I'd love to find a recording of that. Did you catch the show (in maybe 96?) pretty soon after the Baxter Theater opened, where they played in front of the screen before a showing of "City of Lost Children"? That rocked.ECSean wrote:BadComrade wrote:I have a little flipbook of one of the films they showed at one of their shows... a building falling down.
Yeah, that was a building they imploded in downtown Louisville in the 90's. Did anyone see their first show in 94 at the Clifton Cultural Center in Louisville? I used to have a recording of it. Jason played this unbelievable song on guitar by himself, and I've never seen it show up on a record. I haven't heard it in years, but it's still stuck in my head.
Every show is surprising in some way, and well, well worth your time and money. Plus they're really friendly folks. I have a live recording from a recent show here in Columbus (Wexner Center) that turned out pretty well considering the circumstances. We were going to videotape it, but the performance space was set up backstage, with everyone on the same level as the band. It was extremely intimate, and we found ourselves in the front row of seats about 10 feet away, so we set the digicam in my purse on the floor and just got the audio. The setting made for some crystal clear sound. If anyone's interested feel free to pm me. I'm not a professional taper but I'm happy to share.
