thanks to people i probably know somehow for the various joeyfat mentions.
they/we are still happening, just very slowly for the last few months - only played one show so far this year due to people being busy with other stuff but more live action is planned for december along with a new track on the unlabel christmas compilation cd, as usual.
there are currently no plans for another 10 year break and there should be more activity in 2006.
for more info on joeyfat and for some of the other bands mentioned in this thread already (charlottefield, jason and the astronauts, songs of my lap, cove etc.) have a look at my label's website: www.unlabel.net
there are vague descriptions of what folks sound like (vague as in i wrote most of them) but there will be some nice soundclips on there for all artists very soon (next week hopefully).
ok, i'd best chip in while i'm here - some good british bands then (some of which have been mentioned already but all are ace, particularly live)...
montana pete
lords
part chimp
the wow
bilge pump
kill yourself
and yeah, most of the folks we've released discs for on unlabel i guess...
pale horse were/are grand - one of them was also in million dead (who i wasn't too fussed about). hunting lodge are pretty good live too.
there are more but my head's not working properly...

82Super Furry Animals are great. Consistant too.
But the best live band in britain right now has to be a band from the Leeds/york area called The Static Waves. I'm not sure if they have a deal right now but there are some singles about. I have seen them a few times now and they totally slay live. If you ever get the chance, don't miss them.

every thing decent in the Uk runs through here at some point as I am sure most US bands can vouch for who have played our fair city (Nottm).
and Diego - a question again for you my man (though I am certain it IS the same Diego) - have you ever dressed in womans clothes and had pics taken of you being strangled? I reckon I have pissed next to said photos on many occasions, small world...

84"si-maro!
I think we have an n-th degree of separation going on here for I know (sort of) Mr G Hardwick and his lovely droning in Economy Of Motion.
EA Poster Chris Summerlin! you fit into this scheme somewhere too.
tsk! for not mentioning Souvaris.
I would disturb you further by asking if you're going to see The Dead Texan this evening?"
strangely we all went to see dead texan this evening (GH, Souvaris, me) - surely we know each other?

88Tom, the guitarist in Pale Horse was also in Record Buying Public. I think Pale Horse split because Million Dead got signed and had to go pro, and Tom and the drummer John didn't have time for both bands. Now Million Dead have split up over a girl. But they were rubbish anyway.
