Let me suggest "sabot". A "sabot" is either:
(i) a wooden shoe; or
(ii) a casing used for a small calibre bullet when fired from a larger calibre chamber/bore.
Now that's a cool word. If you use it, it will have the benefit of making you sound like you are well-traveled and know a good deal about firearms. These "facts" will intrigue and frighten your friends and co-workers.

That was a joke made at the expense of literate rock band Silkworm.
And it was a pretty good joke at that!

19I'm fond of isomorphic (and I used it in a conference call today, in fact).
Disquisition is nice as well. Then there's the post-structural lacuna of my grad school years. Dehiscence is one of the words I took with me. (Apparently "lacuna" figures in The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Guess I'll have to see it.)

20too weird! today i was in a conference call, too, with a handful of upper-echelon fellas in the foreign-intelligence community! only i had a chance to use the word trochophore. the assistant to the head of the NSA made a comment about a potential terrorist scenario he was concerned about, and i retorted, "oh jerry, don't be such a trochophore!" it was hella wikked kewl.
