Whaaaa??? I have to say I disagree. I didn't really think there was a whole lot to dislike about this band.
Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons is pretty incredible. The other few records I've heard by them were also really good.

3NOT CRAP -
your fuckin nuts to think otherwise.
2 hot italian twin guys and a cute asian girl... she sings like lightning and a firecracker at the same time...
best album - 'la mia vita violenta' -
best song off it 'i am there while you choke on me' song is nearly 10 years old - still get goose bumps when listening to it - which is often.

5CRAP.
Uninteresting "tribute" to DNA with an extra helping of "knowingly cute asian syndrome". A one-note no wave samba.

6a banal sonic youth tribute who copped a dna song title as their band name for some undeserved "no wave" cred. i have friends who love this band, and i cannot understand why. everything i've ever heard by them has been tiresome, to put it charitably.
CRAP.

does this mean something i don't understand? some kinda pop-culture reference or something? cause neither part of that makes any sense to me, and i'm even actively listening to them right now to try and understand. i'm still not getting it. have you listened to them a lot? or just a couple songs?
never seen them live but a former bandmate was scolding me for missing them when they came through town a couple years ago. he described their performance as extremely "sexual", and her specifically as "orgasmic", her stage presence, very "sexual". i've listened to the albums enough to see her leaning more towards get being dark, disturbed, and dirty than "cute". maybe "cute asian syndrome" is an expression that we could reserve for bands like shonen knife? just to have the expression retain some sense of meaning?
just listened to, blonde redhead, "missle". not one-note. not a samba. not "cute". now playing "a cure", not one-note. not a samba. way more dark than cute.
even their big pop song "in particular" doesn't seem to be covered by your description. what songs are you talking about anyways?
check out "Water". great song.

9these guys have always been controversial
very few bands go as far in to both pop and sort of art-noise-rock. that seems to piss people off.
but overall, i think they are a better than average band very dedicated to their craft and capable of doing awesome things.

I was trying to be cute. I just meant that they sound (to me) like they have their "thing" and that's about it. Some people obviously like that "thing", but I do not. I may not have heard everything they've done, so maybe they do more than I think they do. The samba part was a reference to the song "One-Note Samba".

I meant 'cute asian syndrome' as per your friend's description. Not necessarily your friend, but some people tend to fetishize asian women to the point where they no longer look for individual characteristics, but lump them all into this sexualized "other", like leather or feet. I think some people like this band because there's an asian woman in power and it plays into their fantasies.

I don't know the song titles. I just know whenever I heard them, I "got it" early on and it didn't move me. But hey, I listen to Raymond and Peter for fun, what do I know?
