Nikola Tesla

I live about 2 miles from where Tesla lived here on Long Island. Still extant on the site is what I would describe as a "compound," comprised of numerous brick buildings that are now behind fences and slowly being consumed by weeds and foliage. The place almost seems like a ghost town. As far as I can tell, no one is doing much to honor this scientist's memory other than to have a street nearby named "Tesla Road".

My growing curiosity as to what exactly is in those buildings is slowly building my courage to make a stealthy leap over the fence...

I believe he had one of his large antennas at this location as well. From what I could see from a quick drive by, it is no longer standing. I could be wrong though; there were many tall trees obscuring my view.

Sorry to hear that place is out of function.
In Zagreb, Croatia, there is part in Technical museum where they have demonstrations with his high freq.voltage generators and visitors.
You should see those hairstyles...
But, he is not really popular in Croatia either, since guy was Serbian nationality and most of Croatians dislike everything connected to that particular genes...
Which just proves the fact that stupid people are universal.

In that museum there was exibition couple of years back,
about history of recording...they had old, very old stuff in there...

Hey, danmaksym, do you think you could be more specific about where Tesla's place is? I can't find any more information on it, so if you could tell me more specifically where it is that would be super. The way that you're describing it, it doesn't seem to jump out at one.

If you look at a map of the Rocky Point/Shoreham area, follow Rt. 25A east. There should be a street called Tesla Street (or Tesla Road) on the north side of 25A. If you go down that street, look to your left and you will see what is most likely his old laboratories/home.

That's all I can really tell you... I haven't done too much research on the place and don't know any specific street numbers or anything.

Hope that helps a little...

That's good enough. Thanks.
