I think I did alright. We have been getting along better than ever, so I actually tried this year. her birthday is also on xmas day, plus she just graduated college so it's sort of a 3 for 1 deal I had to do here....

I got her an Ipod, because she mentioned that having one would be nice for her trips she takes for work.
A 'my vagina belongs to jesus' thong, and a 'dirty bible verses' calender Because we endlessly laugh at and mock religion and she's sexy.
A ring because girls like rings.
A terrarium set up with seeds for several carnivorous plants, because she had a venus flytrap that died after having it for years and she seemed genuinely upset about it.
An Iggy Pop shirt for her cat to wear, because I thought it was funny when I saw it and we both love her cat and she loves Iggy Pop.
A Beavis and Butthead DVD set because she loves Beavis and Butthead.
A gift certificate for Cold Stone Creamery because she loves ice cream.

All in all came in under a grand and should keep me in good standing for at least a few months, I would think.

Building her a Stereo rack for the amp, turntable, tuner and CD player.

Setting up said components to provide her with a working stereo system in her "office"
