For me its close but marriots voice does it more for me.

I think Ronnie Laine is the true cement in both though.

The poacher by the plonk is one of my favourite songs of all time.

Nice bumps, _Dragon.

I was watching a documentary about Ronnie Lane the other day and was totally transfixed. Good bassist, and it seems that life dealt him a particularly bum hand.
This band had never really interested me, but 'Song of a Baker' is a great tune and it's made me want to listen to some more stuff...

run joe, run, why would you say Ogdens... is a dodgy album? It was the one I was considering buying...

I also saw that documentary, and had the feeling afterwards that this was a man with a wonderful spirit.

It's not that I think Ogden's... is bad, particularly, and I'd even go so far as to recommend it - especially if you're keen on the more whimsical side of the band - but I think it's patchy, and somewhat awkward, like they're slightly out of their depth. All good fun though.

I like my Small Faces how I like my Who: loud and raucous, and preferably mono.
Back off man, I'm a scientist.
