I know exactly what you mean. The snare and guitars are my worst part of the mix IMO. I couldn't get the snare to sound half decent without deadening it too much. Which I have a problem with a lot. Like, the ringing is just too present and crappy unless I deaden the snare a lot, and then the snare sounds too dead and dry. Is it just that I am dealing with low quality snares or is there some tricks to cure that annoying ring without deadening the tone so much?
