please answer, including an explanation of WHY. and choose any context you'd like.
i'm thinking specifically about two contexts, one being professional/employability, and the other being just overall utility, like if you were marooned on a deserted island.
professional/employability :

though i've heard it said that specialization is the key in the corporate world, i just don't see it. i guess i just don't function in the corporate world anyways. well rounded and good at lots of different things seems to be the way to go, for me anyways. and non-corporate, too.
overall utility, crashed on a deserted island etc.
--------------------------------
i'd say it depends on how many people are there with you. if you're alone, then no doubt it's "generalization", that is unless your specialization is in survival. let's face it, that's a fucked up and unlikely specialization to work at in modern america, unless you're thinking of being a navy seal or something. but if there's enough people stranded on the island, i guess i could see everybody being specialized in different useful things being alright. but no, still, i'll go with "broad/generalized".
Broad/Generalized vs Narrow/Specialized
