The Cerebus stuff is great, if you haven't read it already.

I'm not big on the comics these days, but I did just find a copy of 'Madwoman of the Sacred Heart', a collaboration between Moebius and Alejandro Jodorowsky. Pretty cool, if you are into that sort of thing.

some of these might be really obvious, but hey:

-Mother Come Home by Paul Hornschemeier
-Or Else 1- 4 by Kevin Huizenga
-Babel, Epileptic by David B
-Persepolis, Poulet aux Prunes by Marjane Satrapi
-King Cat 1 - 65 by John Porcellino, or A Perfect Example
-It's a Good Life if you don't Weaken by Seth, or any of his Palookaville series
-I Never Liked You by Chester Brown
-Peep Show by Joe Matt
-Anything by Chris Ware or Daniel Clowes
-If you can get hold of anything by Richard MacGuire, he's the mack daddy
-Pulpatoon Pilgrimage by Joel Priddy
-Optic Nerve 1 -12 by Adrian Tomine
-Anything by Robert Crumb

For my money the best graphic novel ever written is Ethel & Ernest by Raymond Briggs. Not strictly a "comic" but it is fucking amazing.

He went to bed about a decade ago, or whenever he sold his soul to the bankers and the elites.

David Lapham's Stray Bullets is consistently great and the new hardbound collections are absolutely beautiful. Definitely a big influence on my writing. Lapham's stuff is often compared to Sin City, but Stray Bullets is far superior to that Frank Miller pap.

I've been enjoying Y the last man. I had forgotten how frustrating reading a monthly title is after reading the first half of the series in one chunk and am now having to wait a month to read a few pages. Its about the last man left alive on earth after a virus wipes all male animals on the planet apart from his pet monkey.
Don't concentrate on the finger..
