3Crap. A couple of good songs and more original than most of the other goth bands. But weak songwriting combined with high theatrics and vocal histrionics ain't my cup of earl gray. WF:3

4Not crap with the stipulaton that we're talking about their older shit - the Scream, Kaleidescope and Juju are all great works. Very inventive guitar parts with a good 'distance' between the guitar and bass. Spellbound, Overland, and Carnival are some of the highlights to me, and the shit McGeoch played on was all pretty awesome.
Of course, McGeoch wasn't able to offset the crappier aspects of the band, and given that I've never had the opportunity to see them live to fully soak in the riduculousness of their costumes and shit, I am just evaluating them by their music.
I found Juju really enjoyable overall - the guitar riffs are pretty damn clever and seem to have had laid some serious ground in the post punk world.
But man was I disappointed when I picked up Hyena and threw it on.

5My Achilles Heel! Not Crap. I own most of their records except for the last
3. The Creatures 1st album "Feast" is one of my top ten from High school.
John Mcgeogh (r.i.p.) was brilliant on the guitar. Lest we forget his work with Magazine and P.I.L. Budgie was fooking amazing on the drums! Great band.
The Banshees cover album "through the looking glass" introduced me
to Roxy music, Television, Iggy Pop, Sparks and Billy Holliday. So, not crap for that alone.

6NC, up to the album with Swimming Horses on it... after that, CRAP.
Kiss in the dreamhouse and Nocturne I still think are excellent.

the one after that, Tinderbox, is OKAY...not crap...but not that great...actually the b-sides to those albums are surprisingly great...far better than the album stuff...though after that...well, not all of it's HORRIBLE...but a bit of it is...
