then shellac preceded to destroy everything with their awe-inspiring greatness. what i wonder is how those people find the time to be such an incredibly tight band.

i thought it was pretty *cute* the way mr weston would adjust mr trainer's drum mics.

hell, i was blown away by the general mixture of cuteness and mindfucking heaviness.

oh man oh man oh man what a day.

I was there from start to finish, great fucking time.

The new year, solid set.
Uzeda rocked hard ass.
Pegboy was great, lotsa fun.
silkworm dudes played a nice tribute song for their friend.
The Ex were fantastic.
Killdozer was Killdozer.
Jon and Kat were really cool, very cool little set.
The motherfucking Didjits were fucking spot on great.
PW Long sucked with his acoustic bullshit.
Negative Approach, who cares. I got some food.
Sally Timms, eh....she seems like a really nice person but it was boring.
Scratch Acid was a fucking monster.
Man or Astroman were good.
Big Black was fun to see. Jeff P seemed not into it at all and pissed even but maybe I am imagining things. Sound was way off at first but came together about halfway thru. Very fun, sloppy little set.
Shellac was the best I've ever seen them and I've seen them a lot of times. Just a really fantastic set, perfect in every regard.

Best Shellac show I have ever seen.... holy crap they were great!

Scratch Acid was so worth waiting all these years! No short comings... all solid like a band that plays together all the time... Seeing Rey Washam play!! So great!

Big Black... fun to see... fun to hear... I am not sure if there was a moment I wasn't thinking to myself "I can't believe I am watching Big Black!".

So many happy, good people there! The love was flowing!

All in all I am drunk with happiness of such a great day... and there could have been more... There could have been a Rodan reunion (three of the four were there). Could have been a Rapeman reunion. There was Preston, Kevin, and TWO Mule drummers (Jason and Jim)!! That could have been good. I will look forward to the 30th!... and tomorrow, of course...

I agree with a lot of what has been said already. I don't think I've ever seen Shellac more happy to be playing. Todd made me laugh out loud on numerous occasions.

However, I'm taking the time to post before I go off to bed because I got a crazy sunburn on my face from this show! I got there at 11:30 and stayed for the whole enchilada. Upon getting home I was flat out amazed to see how burnt my face was. Did anybody else experience this? I know the clouds don't block the UV, but it's freakin' September!

Anyway, it was fun bumping into all you EA folk. You are wonderful!

Cheers,
Allen

In retrospect, I should have stepped off the stage and utter-kicked Mrs. O'Leary's cow.
