Holy shit, Tar made a video!?!?
Like a "we're making a promotional video" video.

Damn.

A lot of the AmRep bands did - Halo of Flies, God Bullies, etc; the Dope Guns and Fucking in the Streets video compilations were entertaining. I'd like to get hold of those again.

I have volumes 1 & 2 on VHS. I would make copies for those interested...I might even have access to a PAL deck here at work.

Ah. Didn't realize it was still out. Isn't AmRep way done? Atavistic is a great company, though...

My love for Tar is pretty much endless. Saw them at the Metro in Chi in the fall of '92 playing before Jesus Lizard. Dirt opened the show. Tar sounded amazing, I'll never forget it so long as I live. Another weird thing about that night: later I was down on the floor for Jesus Lizard, was standing at the back, at the edge of the pit, it's like 3am in the morning, Yow is pretty much going nuts nonstop (surprise), and I kept getting bumped into this scrawny blonde-headed kid standing beside me who looked really reserved and withdrawn. Was a bit surprised when later in the night the spotlight was on the same kid and Yow was introducing him as his friend 'Kurt,' who was in town to play a couple of shows. Months later the video broke, and the rest, as they say, for Kurt and the world, was history . . .

I think this was one of the Metro show which Brad Wood did the live sound. I remember being stunned at just how fucking amazing the room sounded. I recall telling Greenless this after the performance in which he said, "that's Brad Wood for you"... Definitely one of many highlights in the thirty or so times I saw Tar.

I seem to remember that show as well. As I recall, the room ROARED that night. I think we paid Brad $50 or so or doing sound. Well worth it.
