It wasn't that bad. And no one noticed that my drum beat took a very disco turn in the middle of the song.

'All-Hip Mahotma' (don't ask!) rehearsed frequently for a spell there in the early 90's, lasted just long enough to play 2 house parties, never wrote an original tune, and chose covers with no particular strategy other than (a) songs someone liked at the time and/or (b) songs that weren't too terribly demanding to play:
