I have attempted to play this in Real Player, Quicktime, Windows Media Player, and Winamp, and it will play in none of them.

I think I mentioned this previously in this thread, but RAR is a compression format:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAR

You need to uncompress it, and then you will find mp3's. I have a mac, so I just double click it and I think StuffIt uncompresses it. If you are on a windows I am sure there are programs to do it. Or you can command line it, which I think is where RAR and TAR and shit like that is more often used.

What he said. Winrar will obviously uncompress it, and I could be mistaken, but I think Winzip will as well.

Frustratingly so, yes.

Edit - one more for the pot:

Camberwell Now - The Ghost Trade

Charles Hayward's best post-This Heat release. Also features 'Working Nights' from the compilation All's Well. Skittery drumming and switchboard-triggered tape samples. Ignore the dated stomp of 'Speculative Fiction' and it's a neat little album of forgotten 80s outsider rock.

WoW!

I now feel obligated to contribute.

I've just gotta dig something up.

Thanks, Nina!

You're welcome..

This thread has developed into a pretty impressive collection of fucking amazing music. I am impressed every time someone puts something up. Quite a few of them I already own, but most of them are on vinyl and I tend to be a bit lazy, so it's easier to listen to them if I'm here at the computer.

I know that there are some frequenting this forum who have been very vocal in their opposition to what we are doing here. I don't know what personal stance the big man of Electrical Audio takes in the debate, or if he has even made his feelings publicly known, but if he is opposed, I would like to thank him for allowing the thread to continue..that's pretty cool.

Personally, I purchase almost all the music that I listen to. I have in fact, paid for everything that I have posted here. I have discovered shit loads of bands through downloading that I never, ever would have heard otherwise. If I like a band enough to listen to them more than once or twice, I buy something they have released. Entertaining me is not an easy thing to do, so I have enormous respect for those who posses that talent.

So if I respect them so much, you may ask why I upload their music for those who have not purchased anything since cassettes went out. The only answer (not justification, mind..) I have is that music connects people, and in today's fucked up world, that does not seem like a bad thing. (Unless of course, they like shit music. Connecting with anyone via Milli Vanilli would be wrong, possibly even illegal.)

Salute, people with good taste!

I am not sure of the details with this one, but it is Melt Banana Peel Sessions:
http://www.sendspace.com/file/30kk45

In searching for more details, I found this post which has a link to download another Melt Banana Peel Session:
http://musique.wordpress.com/2006/10/15/melt-banana-peel-session/

But the download (through MegaLoad) sucks, so I will save you the time and upload it to SendSpace:

Since I haven't had a chance to look at this second zip/album and the one I have doesn't have track names (sorry), someone please let us know if there are duplicates here or what. Thanks.
my mustache will be named 'Rick'.
