Spot ruined those late records. I like all those songs a lot, but In my Head and Loose Nut are two very rare examples where the recording is so shitty I can't listen to it. It's kind weird because Slip it in actually sounds pretty damn good.

Slip It In. Cool little record.

I love the Flag. With all my heart I do love that band. But those last records...everyone was so fucking burnt out and running low on ideas. Aside from about two songs on Loose Nut I don't think there's a song worth saving from that part of the band's catalog. I read "Get in the Van" where Henry talks about Black Flag playing only the more recent stuff and people leaving or not getting into it at all. All the lineup changes, all the drugs and Ginn's frantic schedule of releasing every mediocre record by every mediocre "hardcore/crossover" band out there...pretty sad.
