3PBS did a series of one-hour documentaries of modernist poets called Voices and Visions. Your library may carry them. They're all excellent.

4A documetary series from the Eighties, "Voices & Visions" is very good. It spotlights 13 American poets, most from the first half of the 20th Century. If your PBS affiliate does not still air them, then I am fairly certain you can buy them on DVD.

Born into This is FUCKING INCREDIBLE.
This guy did a 64-something part documentary on Bukowski over the course of many years. It used to be up on youtube.
There is a video on Henry Miller that is incredible as well, because he talks about why New York is a shithole and also about his life in vivid detail. It's like, three hours long but fucking impossible to find.
