i dont think pickups would change anything to what i hope : i really like the "metalic" aspect of sound that metalneck guitars can make*. i would like my basse sound to be as metalic as possible and i would like to make my mind up on wether i can get this kind of sound coloration metalnecks produce on guitare frequency range or not, but with a bass.

(* and that is not a projection i make because i know that this or that guitare player uses metalneck guitare : i heard this phenomena before knowing that metalnecks exist)

Yep! I got a '76 Kramer 650G from a pawn shop in Wicker Park about 10 years ago (cheap!). This is my favorite guitar still, as the tonal range it is capable of boggles my mind, and it is really comfortable. This one is made with bookmatched flame koa on either side of a stripe of birdseye maple and mahogany banding, so there is a definite visual bond there as well.

I also want a National steel guitar some day. mmmmmm...metal.

and : i am a bass player thinking into buying a metalneck bass, but before doing it i would like to here a few samples of such basses, not to waist my money... can anyone post some??
(yes, i am heavy about it)

i'm gonna try to get this done today.

If you're talking about your Electrical bass, you might wanna put a little disclaimer about the fact that it's the only one with the type of pickups you have, which makes it sound a lot different than his "standard" model.

good call. it's the only one with those pickup locations too.

it doesn't sound like a bean, folks. sorry.
somebody help me. i can't help myself.

I dunno...my aluminum-necked is not very "metallic" sounding. It's really warm and punchy, yet still articulate with a slight "chorus" effect. I describe the tone as "powerful" and "big" sounding.
