so i do not really know if anyone in the rest of the world cared, but over here in swedeland the leather nun were pretty damn important.
and i have always heard that they had a small audience in the u.s. so i am just curious if anyone used to listen to them and what they thought.

personally i really liked the early stuff (ensam i natt, no rule, fly angels fly, slow death, prime mover, and so on). i also thought they had some really good songs throughout their career, but kind of lost out on way too polished and radio friendly production jobs.

so not crap, according to me.

It was Throbbing Gristle who launched their career, with an EP on industrial. "No Rule" was terrying! (The Butthole Surfers would play it as an encore for years) Other songs were clearly TG influenced and that side of their music would never resurface. The photo of the band exudes a real menace, though it's just the classic rock poses, costume &c.The live LP "Alive" is classic Rock n Roll, I really love it tho there's nothing especially unique on it....its all about Bikers. Their presence was known through live shows and a handful of EPs for years...only when they tried to make it did the whole operation become pointless. I never saw them but I bet their live shows were still worth going to but Steel Construction LP was a real let down when it eventually appeared. A coupla tracks you could enjoy but many useless songs...a rap song about shoes they'd obviously been told to do. Never bothered after that and neither did they. Jonas has a myspace account and regularly reminds you to buy Nun records off eBay...

When "I Can Smell Your Thoughts" was a college radio hit, the opened for Echo and The Bunnymen.
I expected odd and brooding.
What I got was a little goofy. For their last song, 3 women in white, skimpy leather dresses got up on stage and danced like it was a Rolling Stones show. So strange.

Not such a good show, but not bad.
E and the B Men were unreal. One of the best shows I've ever seen.
