Someone, tell me: has the U.S, thrown up more than say 3 bands (which i cant even name) over the past ten years whose work will survive? At all? As anything more than 'a good example of their type'?

Look at the club scene, look at the bars, its a wretched stagnant mess of shitty looking hipsters and bands that may seem kinda decent only cos they remind you of something. Mediocrity and nostalgia reign.

any arguments?

No argument here. I think you're absolutely right. And I think the main problem is that there simply aren't enough bands with cello and a sample/beat guy who is also the soundguy.

Now, I realize that this is your vision, but I'm thinking that if you let the beats 'n soundguy "freestyle" a bit also, you may end up with something that people will remember for 15 years. Fuck 10 years.

Actually, it's not an hilarious thread, it's rather sad.

What happened here: although I was warned by the moderator that if I posted looking for musicians I would get flamed, I did anyways, because I don't give a shit. And, when asked, I got admittedly too specific about what my ideal context would be.

Enter a flood of douchebags looking to take potshots, led of course by the irredeemably infantile Marsup.....a total herd mentality ensues, territorial pissings flood the forum, gangbang shit: oh, lets rag this guy out, even tho he's already admitted that, GOD FORBID, he might be a little too ambitious or expect too much...

Cynicism is COWARDICE. Those who insult people where they have admitted their folly are COWARDS. Those that join in this cynical. snotty chorus like sheep are even worse. Everyone has a vision of what they want to do, there is nothing wrong with it, without visualisation, and without adapatability, nothing good happens.

That's my peace.

Next up will be a review of Marsup' music.

One day when I am awarded some pixie dust that allows me to visit your imagination world, I'll tell you what I think of your ridiculous 20 piece electro strum rock band
