If Bob is doing that, he's picked an incredibly roundabout way of doing it if you think about it. Spending so much time looking for quotes. Building those massive posts with his giant text and images. If his sole purpose was to piss people off, he could do it by calling them names and stuff.
He is not a troll in the classic sense. He is a unique troll and he is proud of it. I guess you missed the part in his PM to me when he saidclocker bob wrote:...now I need to get back on the ulcer horse, resume internet conflict, and be somebody's pariah again. Lucky EA forum, especially Galanter.

which shows me he clearly wants to purposefully antagonize. Yes he claims to believe what he says but I don't believe that when he says it. I think he is full of shit and just gets off on pissing people off. He also does plenty of name calling in the classic trollish manner.
Here is his last post as "Clocker Bob", more reason why I think he is just a sack of shit troll.clocker bob wrote:...I meant to also give kudos to everyone who caught on immediately that there was a big element of performance art in the character of Clocker Bob. Not saying that I didn't believe what I posted, but the demeanor of the character was constructed to attract hostility, in the hopes of garnering more attention for the ideas in the posts. I'm not sure that worked. Maybe the ideas got more exposure because Clocker Bob was so outlandish, but maybe I lost people who blocked out the ideas because of their animosity for the character...
We can still agree to disagree but how is this persona any different than "Rick Reuban"? It's not. And if it's not then the line about it being performance art constructed to antagonize is bullshit.
Disagree all you want but I think his words and actions speak for themselves.

1- make fake quotes, put my name on them.

3- post PM's on the public forum.
When you resorted to that last one, that certified how deeply I dug into your mixed-up head. Another victory for me. When your enemies are forced to bend the rules to parry, that means that you have shredded them on the level playing field.
I wouldn't worry about that too much - perhaps it wasn't the most ethical thing to do, but then you know Bob would fuck you over in any way he could in a second. It's only worth respecting someone up to a point - if they continually abuse your respect, then fuck 'em.
Rick Reuben wrote:Why should I care who thinks I'm a troll? All labels are fine with me. Let my detractors put me in any category they like. tmidgett implied I was a troll like a year ago. Did it stop me from reporting on the mortgage bubble, and making his mainstream media-fed optimism look worse and worse in hindsight? No. People called me a troll in the 9/11 threads. Didn't matter. The hoax continues to unravel, and I was early on the side pushing for a repaired history. Your labels on me=your blinders around your own eyes.
Rick Reuben wrote: When my detractors desperately grab at any excuse they can fumble together to smear my message, they confirm that their mind control has taken authority over their lives. When they deliver non-stop personal attacks, they amplify the power of the truth, because the truth is an interloper into their cloistered worlds, and their kneejerk panic confirms its potency. When they break internet etiquette, they are revealed as frauds.
In every way, I win, because all I need to do is post the truth. Ignore me, I win, attack me, I win, label me, I win. The truth is a gift. Lies are a curse. Every time you lie against the truth, you stumble deeper into a forest of shame.

I was more worried about peer pressure retaliation against me if I publicly agreed with that one, lone person, more worried than I was about the future of the whole damn country. I thought micro when the world needed me to think macro. One person made me dilute my anger.
See, my friends- isn't that a good excuse??"

When they came for the homosexuals I did not speak up because I was not a homosexual. When they came for gypsies I did not speak up because I was not a gypsy. When they came for the Jews I did not speak up because I was not a Jew. When they came for me there was no one left to speak up for me.
