My wallet usually determines my preference. Probably because I drink too much whiskey. Even then it's usually Evan Williams. No paper to throw at a bottle of Knob Creek when it's not a special occasion. When money is no issue, and I'm eating:
Bridgeport IPA (portland)
Dale's Pale Ale (denver-ish - comes in a can, and i dislike bottles)
Brooklyn East India PA (durr)
Terrapin Rye Pale Ale (Athens)
if none of the above are present, I'll take Sweetwater 420 if its on draft.
You can't get yuengling in GA, and their black and tans are awesome. Especially with oatmeal cream pies.
For daily, empty wallet drinking:
-High Life (i wish these things had "Camel Cash" on the cans, I'd have a fucking 747 by now)
-Coors (heavy*) - $3.99 for a sixer of tall boys. can't be beat in these parts.
-Budweiser (heavy) $1 22's at the BP
-Schlitz (not the malt liquor)
observe
-Pabst, but it's so fashionable it's unfashionable now. Nothing like a freezing cold one while sitting on a milk crate behind the pizza shop in between double shifts, though.
Then there's REALLY broke shit like Black Label, the Beast (milwaukee's best), HOBBS (kroger brand?), Coors light 30 packs, etc...
I can't take heffe's, belgian beer, fruit-infused taste sensations, heineken, or peroni. I'd rather give that shit away than drink it.
....and at any rate, I'd rather have whiskey. With rocks.
