Listening now to Over The Sun. She's one of my favorite live performers, and I'm all over this record. I'm humping it like a little doggy. Shannon Wright is fantastic.

My favorite guitarist in the world at the moment. Live, she has made my cry real tears like a little child.

I don't understand how any fan of genuine rock music could fail to be moved by her when she plays live with the guitar and the piano and everything. So good.

i've only heard crowsdell-dreamette (her oldest band's only album or something)

at first it was really annoying, but then i got into it. it's a good album. i don't know what to check next.

I haven't really listened to that much of her solo albums, but I am crazy about her album with Yann Teirsen. Amazing album!

NOT CRAP. In fact, light years away from CRAP.

I don't find her to be overly dramatic. She sings with emotion, but her lyrics are so bizarre, its hard to have that eye-rolling, groaning reaction to her songs. A lot of critics compare her to Tori Amos, which I find to be stupid and insulting. Live, she is incredible. I saw her a few years ago when Brian Teasley/Birdstuff was her drummer, and I have never seen a person hit drums as hard as he did during her set. The 2 of them onstage was so incredible and huge-sounding.

Further evidence Shannon is not crap:
When Blazar left Man or Astro-man?, she filled in on guitar for a couple shows. Very awesome, and she looked cute in an Astro-man outfit. Was she one of the Astro Gamma Clones?

Shannon played a two-set show in Atlanta last month (one set piano, one set guitar) and Ballard Lesemann was playing drums with her. He was in the Rock*A*Teens for a while. I don't know if he was filling in for Christina or if he's replaced her. I liked Christina better myself though Ballard is plenty competent, if a tad bit goofy.

I stand by my CRAP assessment, steve and all.

She has little to no sense of songcraft and her histrionics are just unbearable. Frankly I am a bit shocked to find that no one else here shares this opinion.
