52I saw a bunch of the 2nd season on a Showtime free week recently. Love it. I'm really bummed that I didn't blow it off and wait to watch season 1 first. But then, I probably never would have known how good it was if I didn't watch those season 2 episodes. I'm so conflicted.

55I love Dexter! It did start out slow, but i got the whole first season on dvd and compulsively (appropriate, right) watched the whole thing. Some nights later I saw the interview with Dahmer and his father, which I dared not watch for years. Psychopaths are fascinating grist for the mill in this here existential vacuum.

57***SPOILERS***
Finished the second series last night.
Wow, total CRAP. Well, not total CRAP, but 90% CRAP.
100% of the 90% was anything to do with Lila - terrible acting, terrible plotting, terrible script. It seems likely that her part was shoe-horned in as a way to dispose of Doakes since apart from that her stuff (and the NA stuff) was completely irrelevant plot-wise.
"O hi! I d1d sl33ping wth yr byfr3nd!"
Series 1: ACE.
Series 2: CRAP.

58Great show. Haven't finished Season 1 yet, but soon will.
I love most of the characters on the show, including Angel and Doakes, but I'm not crazy about the sister.
It's great that James Remar, who played the cop who was constantly trying to bust Matt Dillon in Drugstore Cowboy, is Dexter's Dad.

59watched the 1st season over a series of t.v. dates. the two of us were completely addicted from go. love the narration. one of my favourite aspects of film and television.
plan to catch the 2nd season on dvd eventually. most likely on my lonesome as the aforementioned dates have taken a bit of a left turn... (sigh)
really great. NC.
