I have played with chorus and distortions and octave my whole life and have never expanded and now im wanting to expand into some delays and ring mods and weird effects.
I have tried some delays but I cant choose.

3i picked up an older purple analogue boss delay. best sounding delay ever. no looping however, but you can make it feedback on itself, and generate some cool stuff by twisting knobs real quick like. lush and pretty mmmm

4How about the mr echo by sib electronics. You can find an older used one for less a hundred. I've heard the purple ibanez. It's good. I think the Mr. Echo is about as good. The new mr. echo pedals are $179. They sound exactly like the old ones. If on a major budget. Get an old used mr. echo. If you can spend $179. Get the new one it is bigger and has an adjustable slam button. Very cool. The old and new do sound exactly the same though. I have had both. I just sold the older mr. echo for $80 bucks. Brand new they were only $99.

5The old blue DigiTech footpedals are ok.
This one.
The Blackbox Quicksilver is supposed to be great, but it is expensive.
I love the Ibanez DM1000, but it's rackmount. It does crazy flanging, chorus, whatever. Loops. Footpedal controllable. I use these all the time and buy them whenever I find them for cheap.

8If you need something that loops, check the new E-H Stero Memory Man. Friend just got one of those, it's pretty sick.

10sometimes I find youtube helpful, alot of people like to post demos of their gear, and what not. if you can get past alot of the blues-wankery, you can usually find something that'll appeal to you, possibly even delays.
